Somebody may find the time to listen.....

The other day I was driving home from work when I got this really helpless feeling. I felt that there was nothing more I could do to help save the country. It just seemed as though the situation had spun completely out of control and that there was nothing more I could do to help. I knew I had to make a phone call. I called one of my best friends. This is the friend, I am sure everyone has one, that disagrees with just about everything I believe in, but disagrees with me in a respectful debate. Usually, at the end of the debate, we have both made minor concessions and walk away or hang up believeing in the same major principles that we did before the debate, but also believing in new minor principles that will forever change the way that we look at the major issues. We listened to each other without yelling, without cursing at each other and even managed to make each other laugh. After we had both hung up the phone, I realized something. The country can still be saved. The problem that we have in this country is that nobody seems to want to argue for what they believe is right. I called Dave because I WANTED TO ARGUE. Not for the sake of arguing, but to reassure myself that my strong beliefs and desires for this country had not faded. They hadn't. Honest argument and debate is the only way to reach sensible and logical conclusions. Although no major conclusions were made during my one hour conversation with my friend, he had managed to reassure me that the fire inside my belly was not gone. I hope I did the same for him. Thank you Dave!! If you find yourself feeling helpless in the current situation that our country finds itself in, find an issue that you feel passionate about and argue your point. You never know, somebody may find the time to listen.

ACORN.........ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

I don't even know where to begin. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past week, or have only been watching CBS, MSNBC or ABC News, then you have probably heard or seen the recent ACORN videos that first surfaced on FOX News. The videos show a courageous couple that are posing as a p imp and a prostitute and are trying to get help from ACORN on setting up a brothel that would "employee" underage children being used as prostitutes. This is a government funded office, with government funded scum bag employees that use taxpayers dollars to fund their corrupt activities. That's right America, your tax dollars are going to these people so that they can give advice on setting up an illegal prostitution house that would use underage girls as prostitutes. If you haven't thrown up yet, there is something wrong with you. Yesterday, the Senate voted to end all government funding of ACORN, however, SEVEN SENATORS VOTED TO CONTINUE, YES CONTINUE FUNDING ACORN WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS. Are you serious? Is this what we have become as a nation? This story goes beyond Republican and Democrat disagreements. This is a human dignity story. Are we really going to allow groups like this to have access to our hard earned tax dollars that are stolen from us week after week by dishonest, repugnant politicians. The seven senators that voted in favor of continuing ACORN funding are: Roland Burris (D-ILL.), Richard Durbin (D-ILL), Pat Leahy (D-VT), Bernard Sanders (D-VT), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Kristin Gillibrand (D-NY), and Robert Casey (D-PA). Obviously, these senators think that it is ok for groups that receive federal funding, which is lingo for YOUR MONEY, to advise people on how to successfully rig the system to ensure that any illegal activity or business is able to operate. This issue is not a republican or democratic issue, people, it is an issue that deals with illegal activity. The Senate finds it unacceptable that Major League Baseball players use steroids and have well publicized hearings to ostracize and criticize them, yet we have seven senators WORKING FOR US, that think government funded illegal advice is acceptable. The situation is out of control. Why do we allow our politicians to act this way? If you live in one of the states that had a senator vote in favor of ACORN funding you should be irate. You owe it to the rest of the country to pick up the phone and ask them what the hell they are thinking. Tell them that their days in the senate are numbered and that you will do everything in your power to ensure that they do not get reelected. If you don't feel compelled to make a phone call to these people, quite frankly, I consider you part of the problem. Here are the phone numbers for the Senators that need a reprimanding call from you:

Roland Burris: (202) 224-2854

Richard Durbin: (202) 224-2152

Pat Leahy:(202) 224-4242

Bernard Sanders:(202) 224-5141

Sheldon Whitehouse :(202) 224-2921

Kristin Gillibrand : (202) 224-4451

Robert Casey :(202) 224-6324

Do not call these people because you are a republican or democrat. Call them because you are sick and tired of them treating the political process as their very own game of monopoly. Call them because it is the right thing to do!!

What is going on??????

Just when you think it cannot get any dumber, our beloved President comes to the rescue and proves to us that it can. That's right, the man who promised to give us change, cleaner air and lower taxes on the middle class has stooped to an all time low in the American political arena. What has Obama done, you ask, to get me all flustered? O.K, here it goes. He has planned to address grade school kids and speak to them on the issues of today. That's right, our President, the most powerful man in the world has decided that speaking to millions of grade school kids is more important than finalizing our new strategy in Afghanistan, more important than getting our economy back on track and even more important than keeping a muzzle on his incompetent vice president. I am sure that little Johnny and cute little Susie cannot wait to hear the latest updates on the Islamic Fascist resurgence in Northern Pakistan. I bet they are excited to rush home and tell their parents that the cash for clunkers program was a smashing hit, so much so that they federal government is planning to implement a similar program on your home appliances. What has happened here is pretty simple. The adults in this country, although to took way too long, have learned that there is nothing of value coming from Obama's mouth. Most well educated, hell even uneducated people in this country now see Obama for what he is, a pathetic socialist who is willing to do whatever is necessary to furhter his deomocracy killing ideas. I guess Obama should feel mighty powerful knowing that he will have the attention of millions of junior Americans who do not know the difference between Republican and Democrat and who still are forced to raise their hands before going to use the restroom. American adults can be brainwashed no more by this lunatic. Thankfully, however, little Johnny and Susie have used all of their hall passes this week and will have to be in their seats when Obama mania sweeps the grade schools. I do think it will be interesting to see if Obama is sporting that short little mustache that the guy from Germany used to wear. And maybe we can make all of the students wear those cute little armbands.
